Social cohesion

Social cohesion refers to the extent to which members of a society coexist peacefully, marked by mutual tolerance, respect, and strong, functional relationships. These relationships are both horizontal, between individuals and groups, and vertical, between individuals and authorities or institutions. A socially cohesive society is not only peaceful but also adaptable and open to progress, allowing for social mobility and other forms of development. Trust, inclusivity, and the ability to address conflicts non-violently are key indicators of social cohesion.
